What is GOPETID?+
It is a private service for organizing profiles and information for service, emotional support, and therapy animals.
Is it a government agency?+
No. GOPETID is independent of any government.
Does identification create legal rights?+
No. Rights depend on the law and actual circumstances, not on purchasing a card or registering a profile.
Can I add more than one animal?+
Yes. Each account can manage multiple profiles.
Service Animals
Does the ADA require registration?+
No. The ADA does not require registration, certification, or a federal card.
What animals does the ADA recognize?+
Primarily individually trained dogs; specific provisions exist for miniature horses.
Can handlers train their own dog?+
Yes. The ADA does not require a professional trainer.
Can it be any breed?+
Yes. A service dog cannot be excluded solely because of its breed.
Emotional support and housing
Can an ESA enter every business?+
No. ESAs do not have general public access under the ADA.
Is a letter purchased online sufficient?+
Not necessarily. Information must be reliable and connected to a disability-related need.
Can a pet fee be charged?+
An approved accommodation is generally not treated as a pet, although the resident remains responsible for actual damage.
Travel and verification
Does the card replace airline forms?+
No. You must comply with the airline and Department of Transportation requirements.

What information is public?+
